LIFE POST

On the the planet Saturn it doesn't have water because its considered a gas giant and it doesn't have a surface like earth and other planets do. It doesn't have a magnetic field. Its a "poof" planet. It doesn't have an oxygen atmosphere. It has 75% hydrogen and 25% helium. There is no life on Saturn yet.
One planet that may have life in our solar system is Titan. Titan is one of Saturn's moons. The body is orbiting Saturn now. Some scientists believe life isn't on Titan. I agree that life cannot be on Titan because it is not possible. Saturn is unable to have life on it because there is nothing that other organisms can live under these many extreme conditions. Organisms that can live in extreme environments are known as extremeophiles. People are unable to live under any extreme conditions because they can't live in the freezing cold, they cannot live in very hot weather like magma temperatures in volcanos. http://www.whiterose.org/pete/blog/images/avp.jpg

Distance From Earth to Saturn

Space is measured in Kilometers, AUs and light years. AUs are measured the most because there is so much space between planets. Kilometers are smaller uses of measurement. The Light years are the most large amounts of measure from space.
Saturn is 8 AUs away from us. It would take us 30 years to get to Saturn and to do a complete orbit around the planet. Humans are not able to reach Saturn because it is so far away from us and we would be dead before we were even half there. http://www.ohkeepa.net/~amandab/graphics/astronomy/sombrero_spitzer.jpg

Supernovas

A supernova is an exploding star that can become billions of times bright as the sun before gradually fading from view. In the middle of the explosion this blast may outshine an entire galaxy. The blast can "Throw" a large cloud of dust and gas into deep space. The mass of the expelled material may be at least 10 times greater than the sun's mass. If a white dwarf reaches a mass of about 1.4 times greater than the sun it would collapse and blow up.http://science.nationalgeographic.com/staticfiles/NGS/Shared/StaticFiles/Science/Images/Content/white-dwarf-spiral-wd-03-ga.jpg

The Rings Of Saturn

The rings of Saturn were are made from space debris colliding with a moon. After the collision the debris was then pulled in Saturn's gravity like a tractor beam and was the floating around Saturn to the form the rings. They dont orbit it either. They are just there.(pic on the right) There is a system of these rings called THE RING SYSTEM OF SATURN. In this system it is divided into 5 major components. These componets are the G,F,A,B and C rings of Saturn. F and G are hard to see because they are the thin ones in space, while A,B and C are broad and easily visible. Also there is a huge gap between A and B. This gap is known as the Cassini Division. In addition a spaceship called Pioneer 11 in 1979 was blasted off into space and the ship took pictures of the rings to get a better understanding of what they really were. These pics were better than the other ones the telescopes took. The image “http://www.outer-space-art-gallery.com/images/bergeronsaturn.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Saturn Accretion

The first step in Saturn's formation is it was first a solar nebula about 4.6 billion years ago.Saturn in this state was nothing but a huge cloud of dust and cold gas which was distributed by colliding with another cloud or the shockwaves of a supernova. After this stage the cloud compressed down forming Saturn's protostar. Next the ices from the protostar combined and clumped together to form larger and larger planetesimals. Then these planetesimals formed in a planet of saturn but not the one we know today. It was first a protoplanet before it got its rings. Particles from a moon and space debris collided to go around Saturn to form its rings and the planet Saturn today was born. Accretion is the formation of when  a nebula forms into a planet.http://www.fpsoftlab.com/images/screenshots/saturn-400x300.jpg

THE BLACK HOLE

black-hole-lab2.gif

http://faraday.fc.up.pt/cfp/Members/paccetti/black_hole_milkyway.jpgThere are many black holes in the universe. Our naked eye or the best telescopes in the world cant find them because they are invisible. In my opinion these black holes represent "THE BEASTS OF THE UNIVERSE" because they eat anything up that comes to it. If you entered inside of a black hole you would die because the gravity is so strong you cant do anything about but just get squashed. STAY AWAY FROM BLACK HOLES!!!! These things can stretch you until you are broken in 2. Inside the black hole you are in the event horizon which means there is no where else to go but down further and further into the black hole until you a blinding light which signals death for you. Inside a black hole it really isnt black it has bright colors and some are black. See the picture. Possibly in the future of the universe our sun can possibly turn into either a red giant or a black hole which would the solar system forever. The image “http://www.bc.cc.ca.us/planetarium/blackhole/blackhole.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

IS PLUTO A PLANET?

http://www.iranian.com/main/files/blogimages/pluto.jpgBack in the 20th century Pluto was considered a planet.but now in the 21st century its not considered a planet anymore because it was apart of the Kuiper Belt. Also its not a planet anymore because it doesn't have enough gravitational pull yo govern all other objects in orbit. My body(Saturn) is a planet because its spherical with 2 rings, it clears its orbit and it orbits around a star(our sun).

SATURNS INFO

THE DIAMETER OF MY PLANET SATURN IS 120,536KM. MY BODY CAN FIT ABOUT 12 SATURNS INTO IT. THIS PLANET ALSO POSSESSES 2 RINGS AROUND THE PLANET.

AMNH trip

http://adler-planetarium-chicago.visit-chicago-illinois.com/sky-pavilion-adler.jpgat the astronomy trip we went into the rose center where my class saw models of the universe and planets. some students learned about their body. i also saw a movie about the big bang and how the universe was after this event. i also learned about the sun to.at the hall of metorites i learned about 3 significant meteors; ahgnitio, the woman and the dog. they were all located on greenland where they were soon discovered.i also saw a movie where i learned about the sun and stars.

1 thing i learned about the trip is that after the Big Bang ocurred for seconds the universe was nothing but space and darkness. another thing is i learned about nebulas, their names and how and why they were created. one more thing i learned is i learned how comets where created. they are made of rock, ice, and dust.

there are still 2 questions that haven't been answered yet. why was the universe created? and why haven't ancient discoveres discover uranus, neptune and pluto?

THE DISCOVERER OF SATURN

gm_Galileo_Galilei_03_10.jpg

Galileo galilei discovered saturn. There is an unknown time for this discovery. This planet was discovered by looking up in the the night sky. http://zuserver2.star.ucl.ac.uk/~idh/apod/image/galileo_hist_big.gif
