Why is a black hole black?

The image “http://www.astro.ucla.edu/planetarium/graphics/st_images/BlackHole.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.A black hole's gravity is so great that light cant escape from it . Also outer space is black so the black hole is very sly and sneaky on trying to engulf things in its way
